Meditation

Hello and Welcome back!

There are way too many times we feel like we are under pressure and we make small mistakes, such as ; we spill the coffee in the morning, we forget our keys on the counter top, we forget our wallet, nametag , small stuff that are caused because we are feeling stressed and our mind is not living the present, our mind is constantly thinking about what happened yesterday and what could possibly happen next ... However, we will work on this in the healthiest way possible. First, I am going to make a reference to my past blog " 5 powerful habits that will change your life", you should take a look at it and take in consideration that we have to work on more than one habit to achieve our goals. Now, I am going to teach you how you are going to take control of your mind. Disclaimer, it will take time depending on the person and its situation, everyone is different.:

  • Find a time and place in the day that is completely quiet and you feel peace and calm, it does not matter if it is in your room, living room, balcony. Really make sure there is no distraction or disturbing sounds, and if inevitably there are disturbing sounds, put on some calming music in your headphones so you can concentrate better.
  • Sit comfortably; it can be a chair, your bed, the floor , wherever you want as long as you are comfortable.
  • Focus on your body, take 5 deep breaths and count each breath as you breath in and as you breath out , count to 10 then start all over again, then as your mind tries to think about something else, let it be, but bring it back to your body as soon as you can. Try to focus on your breathing without forcing it, just "watching your body breath"
  • For beginners I recommend practicing this for as little as 5 minutes a day , after a week, make it 10 minutes, and keep adding 5 minutes as you go on. Fun fact, if you feel like it is hard to meditate it means you need it more than you think.

Try this for atleast a week , you can practice this as many times as you desire, the more you practice it, the better you get at it and the closer you are to control your mind and your surroundings.
